here are 3 types of the lunar eclipses and here are what they are like:
Total Lunar Eclipse
In a total lunar eclipse, the entire Moon is engulfed by the Earth’s umbra, the central, darker part of the shadow. This often results in the Moon taking on a reddish hue, sometimes referred to as a “blood moon”. This happens because some sunlight is refracted by the Earth’s atmosphere and reaches the Moon, but the blue light is scattered, leaving the reddish light to illuminate the Moon.
Partial Lunar Eclipse
A partial lunar eclipse occurs when only part of the Moon enters the umbra. This results in a noticeable dark bite being taken out of the Moon as it moves through the Earth’s shadow.
Penumbral Lunar Eclipse:
A penumbral lunar eclipse is the most subtle type. It happens when the Moon passes through the penumbra, the lighter, outer part of Earth’s shadow. This type of eclipse is often difficult to notice, as the Moon may only appear slightly dimmer than usual.
